As a child, Christina Ricci starred in Mermaids (1990) and The Addams Family (1991). But unlike many of her young colleagues, Christina was able to make the transition from child actor to serious actress by having the courage to take on complex roles in non-mainstream films, such as Buffalo 66 (1998), Prozac Nation (2001) and The Opposite of Sex (1998). After starting up her own production company and acting in a number of memorable movies, Christina Ricci solidified her place as one of Hollywood's most intriguing actresses thanks to a role in the highly acclaimed film Black Snake Moan opposite Samuel L. Jackson and Justin Timberlake, in 2007.
